Flat Plane Carving Knife

These Falt Plane Carving Knives are designed to be used in the “Scandinavian Flat Plane” style. The primary bevel is ground flat across the width of the knife to assist with this style of carving. New carvers likely won’t need this specialty tool and will be more interested in the general purpose “Carving Knives.”

Silvern Wood Carving Knives are made using O1 tool steel, solid hardwood handles, and “micarta”-style bolsters for extra stability. The heat treatment is done in-house, resulting in Rockwell hardness of 60-62. These flat place carving knives are 1/16″ thick. All knives are ground flat. All handles measure approximately 5″ in length and around 3/4″ in thickness.

All carving knives with custom handles are made to order.
